I haven't debunked a climate skeptic for a while and my bloodlust must be sated. Here's my prey:

Well, I've finally got my 9-month review out of the way (4 months late) - with my personal/academic drama settling to a moderate background level, it's time to tie up some loose ends here!
Update (05/04/18): I do believe I've been asking the wrong question. Scroll down for more...
Update (02/08/17): The poll results are in! Scroll down for them... Hey, er, a bit more delay in that closing report, I'm afraid. I'm being kicked out of my flat and I'm changing supervisors. All drama here. That report is going to be so anti-climactic when I eventually do finish it... In the meantime, I'm running a twitter poll just for fun: Apologies for the long silence - I've been busy trying to rescue my floundering PhD project - but I'll be working on that SOLAR DOLL'S HOUSE closing report I promised.
In the meantime, I'd like to question a few of the claims I've heard made about the Grenfell Tower fire. I'm still not sure even now if I should be doing this or if I should stay silent, if this is too soon, or too agenda-driven. But as well as it being a human tragedy, and an outrage, there is a building science dimension that is relevant to comment on here. So, if you're sick of hearing about Grenfell, better stop reading now. Otherwise, please continue... Update: Find some hard facts and real accounts of what happened in The Grenfell Tower Inquiry with Eddie Mair. It is making me reconsider a few points - mostly my disbelief at how incompetent the construction industry can be... Is it Part 9 already?? Where does time fly... Well, as promised, a video of the build process (ooooooh): Since last week's blog post was a little depressing, this week's is going to have some cheerier filler material.
This is the second filler material blog post while I'm building the SOLAR DOLL'S HOUSE. The previous one is here. Have you seen that Simpsons episode 'The Old Man and the Lisa'? (Spoiler alert!!) "You're still evil, and when you're trying to be good, you're even more evil."
As I mentioned last time, the build is underway but it'll take a while. In the meantime, here's the 3D model I made to try and work out where the wires and things should go:
Thanks so much for being patient with me, fellow enthusiasts of green architecture and electronics and whatever else you're following this blog for! Hopefully the wait was worth it for this: If you're getting sick of all the GCSE circuit theory, I have good news! This part will be on planning the "HOUSE" in "SOLAR DOLL'S HOUSE".
Here's a section of that mind map from Part 1, fleshed out a little: |
